Making Your Own Comic
About few years ago, I’ve stumbled on to a site by Nathan Ciprik and he was pushing the concept of merging game screenshots (usually we just use printscreen) and making them into comics using graphic editing tools. He named it Gamic, a term he made which is a combination of the word Game and Comic.
Back then, I was struggling in making my very own graphics, drafting out my own world and writing my own story blog (is just too much work to handle by myself) then, suddenly the word roleplaying using gamic came into picture. Hell yeah in fact, this new passion of mine complement the second one quite well.
Got me to start thinking….What if – I write my own story based on the existing game, create a set of character profiles from it and later, use gamic to fuel my comic creation?
WTH, I can be a storyboard writer / comic creator without much of a hassle!
So, I started playing an online game called Trickster Online and study the history and lore of the game. What story lies behind this world? How is the world like? Is it magical? etc… Then, design a sub-world of my own with my bunch of characters and plotted a story behind it. After weeks of hardwork, dedication and passion, I managed to finish my very own gamic in a pdf format here. For those that, want to find out more on how I make gamics read this.
Quite recently, I’ve decided to make yet another epic gamic based on a new game called “City Of Heroes” and created a bunch of super hero characters for it. It turns out this game is even better than, the one I played before, with a lot of features in the game which allows a lot of screenshots to be generated in multiple camera angle, character actions, fight styles, effects and etc.
All I need, is just a good roleplaying story. I’m almost done with this one, so stay tuned with the post from now on haha.
