Paper Clay Turtle Sam
The second clay project was more careful and planned, now that I’ve experienced in it. This time I’ve decided to use external crafting materials for the eyes (crafting plastic eyes) and I decided to seal this project with glossy paint – to give it a plastic like glow.
I’ve tried forming the clay first, then finish it within minutes. Dry it for the day and sandpaper it the next day. Mark the spot for the eye location during painting it. I bought a pair of crafting eyes stick it there and finish it with varnish glow paint.
What I learned from making Turtle Sam?
Like the Zen quote my father used to share with me.
Learning to let go of all your attachment – you will achieve next level of experience.
For this, I’ve learned to let go of my very own creation and started sharing it. Even though part of me feels like I should have kept it in a collection and showing it off as a trophy of achievement.
In fact, I gave this one to a friend of mine. Why on earth do I do that? Well, I’m only looking the thrill of creation and invoking my inner feelings – besides why attached and keep to my creation while I can share it with my friends? ![]()
