The 3rd Decade – My Missing Passion

About three years ago, I found myself wondering aimlessly like I lost my soul and interest in anything. Yeah yeah… some said it was my hormon changes start to kicked in at the 3rd decade of my life….ughhh…hu hu… There are times, when my anxiety kicks in I just couldn’t sleep and I can tell anybody about it because, most of my friend differs in age group – life is really downhill back then.

One day, I read this article in a newspaper regarding “PASSION” and how people starting to share them on blogs and selling them online too, wow that word suddenly jumps into life all the sudden and hit me right at the face. I was having lot’s of those flashback all the sudden – it was amazing!

I believe that, every decade ( A decade means 10 years – don’t bother googgling it ) of our life started to change – mentally and physically of course. At one time (the first ten years of your life), when you are young and active, you were crazy and ambitious wanting to grow older. Back way then, your passion of yours are at the peak and it keeps evolving day by day basis, first thing you wanted to know more about that next you move on to next and so on… in fact, it’s so wild that your parents stepped in to teach you how to behave. You can also imagine things adults won’t.

e.g, When is the last time you imagine your closet as one of the “portal” to some lalaland or somewhere magical? Or some monster down below your bed or within the bathroom?

And what about the second decade?

Things started changing rapidly too as you joined your way towards adulthood – picking up school – eventually you graduated and your career starts. During this time, you started becoming more mature and “civilized” – that you actually buried all your childhood passion away.  Why on earth do we do that ? Simple, we became adults and things like these started to look very “childish” to you. You started harnessing skills that makes you work faster, earn more and more efficient right? You let your conscious mind of yours do most of the piloting.

And what happens – deep down inside, the subconscious version (the other half) of you, felt very very upset but he /she kept quiet for a very very long time.

And nearing the third decade, by now you are reaching at your maximum of your skills / career, or got so fed-up with the current one – you need an escape. It’s time to do some soul searching and find back the long lost list of passion of yours. It is something you love and enjoy doing over and over again – you practically don’t feel it’s “expensive” (some passion need retraining, equipment and buying books and stuff) to venture forth into it and you can go all crazy about it.

I can’t personally tell you what your passion is. Actually it differs from person to person but, if you do find it – stick to it and master it then, explore other possibility of combining that passion with other passion you may discover find later.

Sooner or later, you will find yourself extremely happy for no reason , you know why?

Because, deep down inside – the subconscious version of you, will find his/her release and can start moving on same pace like the other self (conscious). It is no longer “suppressed”! Once, released – it’s like a non-stop motor running faster and faster; the changes in your life is so drastic, you started feeling younger and you think faster (spontaneous) and it’s all ‘out of the box’. You basically got back the “fire” in you!

Like what the wisemen used to say, let the fire of passion burns!

Well, just to share with you – in my case, after I did a few long months of boring soul searching… I found my list of passions – one of the most prominent one was – Crafting! And I really hope this article will inspired you in your soul searching and passion discovery days – Good Luck!.
