Useful Script: New-Img WP Plugins
With this plugin, you can use a special remark code called <!–new–> anywhere in your post or page (under code view). It will be replaced with a flashy 
icon. You may customize it to your needs by modifying the new-img.php file, under variable of $your_comment_tag and $your_image_tag. It’s free to download, you can even modify to suite your needs, like replace the gif file with What’s new, Tip of the Day, What’s hot and etc. You can get lots of these mini icon here.
